I've started on a new Shifting Sand Scarf from old Grumpy. The yarn is called Sivilla from Wetterhoff, made in Finland.

i-phones need some warmth

I'm playing around with a pattern for an i-phone cozy. I don't own one myself (Yet!), but I have cut out a cardboard dummie to get the right measures.

ohhh so soft

I'm happy with my new neckwarmer. It's very soft and warm. The only thing I changed from the original pattern from Yarn Abuse was that I did a crochet button hole instead of an I-cord.

Somebody stop me!

I can't stop casting on for new projects. I blame Ravelry! There's too many nice patterns, and too many beautiful photos. I just had to start on a neckwarmer.

This is knit with a ball of yarn my mum bought me from Erikshjälpen and it cost 5 sewdish kronor (less than a dollar). It's Kid Alpaca Mohair.
The pattern is Cashmere Neckwarmer from Kim at Yarnabuse.

But you can't knit with that long needles on the tram or bus so I started on these socks (only to have a bus and tram project). It's a Fabel yarn and the pattern is from Garnstudio, here in swedish and in english.

Eventful day

Varning KIM!
Kika inte mer på min blog.
Scrolla inte neråt.
Annars blir det inte så roligt på din födelsedag.
Håll dig borta tills dess är du snäll!

This was an eventful day that started with the kids and me going to the hair-dresser Ada at Salong Renada. It was the first time they had someone other than me to cut their hair. They were both very pleased afterwards. (Me too!) They even got some hair spray and upward-hair like Nisse in the book Nisse går till frisören (Nisse visits the hair-dresser).

I got time to knit a bit too. This is my second atempt to kint a black sea-foam scarf for my sister Kim. I tried a tweed silk yarn first but I didn't like the result so I froged it...

Then I went to the post office and sent off the Sockapalooza 4 socks that I've made.
Grumperina had made a clever custom made sock label for her Sockapalooza socks. I sat at my computer and made myself a quick version too, late last night. This is such a great idea. I will make some more for my other gifts to come.

Then it was baking time! The kids and I baked this blueberry cake with Philadelphia iceing (just like the one on carrot-cakes) but with bluebeeys on top.

The happy but tired chefs!

Peter's new Hat : a Zeebee

This is Peters hat I'm going to give to him on his birhtday. I'm using the pattern for Zeebee, but I'm not making it seamless. And it's actually black, not blue at all. Just a few rows left and I run out of yarn! Now I just HAVE to go to my LYS on the way home from work. What a shame...
But I was planning on knitting a pair of fingerless gloves to match the hat. Maybe a pair of Dashing? So I have to buy some more yarn anyway.
