Hemlispresent!

I received my first Hemlis gift today. Even though my camera refuse to co-operate (the colour is too blue in this photo, it should be lilac) you can see what a great friend I've got. THREE drops Alpaca yarns, three beautiful buttons, wrapped in a bit of an Asian news paper (is that some kind of clue?) and some yummy chocolate. Thank you!!!!

What shall I knit with the alpaca? Maybe a the beginning of a Thermal sweater? I've seen Jaanamaa use this yarn for that pattern and it looked great. We'll see...

shawl progress

All the knitting is done. What is left to do now is that I have to crochet a trim around it all.

shawl for mum

I got a great tip from the owner of 2Knit yarn-shop here in Gothenburg. She showed me a shawl she made with lots of different yarn. All knit with 10mm needles. It looked gorgeous. I know my mother wants a light shawl so I bought a few yarns with different qualities, different texture and thickness. I can't wait to start knitting this one!

April Fabel Socks - check!

The latest socks knitted with Fabel yarn from the Garnstudio is done. Here my youngest son is trying them on. Not a perfect fit.
Hmmm...who would they fit?

Here they are again on the kitchen table.

I have signed up to join Sockapalooza 4.

shawl madness

I'm starting to regret not marking the middle stitch. I think this is the third time I have to rip up several rows because I have made mistakes with the middle YOs.
Knitting this is like taking two steps forward and one step back. And I still haven't marked the middle yet! Every time I am back on track with it look SO clear where the YOs should be. And yet I do the same mistake over and over again. How stupid is that?

I have started on a new pair of socks. Photos will be posted soon.

Easter knitting

I've started on a shawl. I haven't made one before so I looked around for en easy yet nice pattern. I found one over at Cosmicpluto knits! that I liked.

The first Clessidra sock is done too. I tried to take photos of it on my foot but that didn't work. It looked like the sock was worn by an elephant or the photo was out of focus. Couldn't manage the angles.

Both socks done!

Looks nice in shoes...

...feels nice and comfy on feet...

...and a joy to knit. Not to much thinking required, and not too much time. I think the Fabel yarn from Garnstudio worked out well.

First Jaywalker done!

This is what it looks like, my very first Jaywalker. Now I have to start on the second one straight away.

No tattoo!!

Once my second pair of 2,5 mm dpn's were free I could start on my very first Jaywalkers. I tried to knit one pair a long time ago, but back then I didn't know how to knit the heel. I got stuck, and finally I ripped them up. Now it shouldn't be a problem. I like the pattern a lot.

The kids was invited to a birthday party yesterday. It was held at a place called Önskeleken (the wishing game). Everything is taken care of by the staff there. The get the usual korv med bröd (sausage with bread) and cake and there is a padded adventure play-room were all the kids run around screaming. It's hysterical.
My youngest (and most sensible) son didn't want to go. He had been there once before and it was a bit too much for him.

In the goodie bag they got when they were leaving I saw a tattoo.
I told him: "There is a tattoo in the bag!"
He said: "I don't want a tattoo..."
I: "Why not?"
He said : " ... there is a needle when you make a tattoo, and I don't want to be stung by a needle..."
I think his day care friend with tattoo artist parents have explained to him all about the art of making tattoos.
I told him that this wasn't a real one, more like a sticker. This is what it looked like.

the looking tough look.

and the looking kind look.
